Recently, I was sitting at work when I got a delivery from KIND Snacks. In addition to some fun new flavors of their standard bars, there were new Strong & Kind bars in savory flavors: honey smoked bbq, roasted jalapeño, honey mustard, Thai sweet chili, and hickory smoked. I was immediately intrigued, but when I tasted the honey smoked bbq bar, I was a little thrown—it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting. But then I realized I didn’t really have any frame of reference for savory granola bars and kept eating. By the time I’d finished the snack, I’d decided that I was a fan. It was kind of like eating spiced nuts that had been glommed together into bar form. (And as an added bonus, they’re lower sugar than normal granola bars.)
It got me wondering if any food bloggers out there have created their own recipes for savory granola bars—and they have! Here are some of the ones I want to try:
